I fell in love with vintage when I started managing a not-for-profit thrift shop in Omaha for a family raising money for developmentally handicapped teens and young adults. From there, I managed a furniture thrift shop for the same family and fell in love with midcentury modern.
I had recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia just before I took the job with the thrift shop because they were flexible with me and after a couple of years, I just couldn't do it anymore.
Instead of being defeated with sadness, I looked into starting my own Etsy shop for rescued vintage items, and well, here I am! It's been a fantastic motivation of getting out and about when I have "good days." Needless to say, it's been a lifesaver supplementing my income.
I travel around to local thrift shops and yard sales, and I currently live a couple hours southwest of Lincoln, NE - home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Omaha and Lincoln have some of the greatest mid-century modern history and related items hiding in unexpected places, and I never tire of seeking for them.
Welcome to 51 Vintage Circle. Warmest regards!
